Two Texas Schools Awarded Healthy Lifestyles Grants
On behalf of National PTA, we are pleased to announce that an additional 23 PTAs have been selected to receive a Healthy Lifestyles grants this year! As we are sure you will recall, earlier this month 22 PTAs were announced as grant winners. Due to a generous contribution from a new PTA sponsor, we are able to expand the number of grants to include 23 additional PTAs this year.
In total, 45 PTAs will receive a Healthy Lifestyles grant in 23 states and will serve over 28,000 students this year. Each application was thoroughly evaluated using five criteria that include: impact, timing, quality, budget, family involvement, and health and nutrition.
National PTA would like you to support the grant recipients in your state by congratulating your winning PTAs, attending their events, promoting them through your communications vehicles, and sharing them with your local media (please note that all media announcements are embargoed until November 9, 2009; please do not share with anyone or make this information public until that date). Stay tuned for a special announcement regarding the grant awards on November 9th. Details to follow soon.
